China Knowledge quoted according to the latest statistics released by the General Administration of Customs that China, the world largest steel maker saw its iron ore imports increase 6.5%YoY to 54.55 million metric tons in July this year.The imports in July reflected a growth of 6.8% from the previous month.In the first seven months of this year, the country iron ore imports amounted to 390 million tonnes up by 7.9%YoY.Average import price stood at USD 162.8 per tonne during the period up by 39.1%YoY and reflecting the highest level ever recorded.
